Applications

  • As an auxiliary agent for synthetic resins

Auto manufacturers are adopting more engineering plastics for car components in place of metal parts due to their light weight and convenience in molding.

Our products provide various effects including high temperature resistance, and prevention of oxidation and corrosion of metal molds when being added in small amounts to the existing formulations of general to special engineering plastics.

  • As an auxiliary agent for anticorrosive liquid in place of hexavalent chromium

Hexavalent chromium has been used widely for many applications, including as a chromate treatment for zinc plating, a chemical conversion treatment for aluminum and magnesium, chrome plating process liquid and pigments for anticorrosive coating materials. However, it was pointed out long ago to have negative effects on the human body. These effects include carcinogenicity, toxicity (causing gastroenteritis and nephritis) when orally taken, and allergies and dermatitis triggered by skin contact.

Moreover, emissions of hexavalent chromium into discharged water and the atmosphere are strictly regulated.

Therefore, trivalent chromium plating is attracting attention due to the ease in which it can be used to treat wastewater and for its uniform electrodeposition properties.

Phosphorous acid and phosphites, which constitute trivalent chromium plating liquid, are expected to be further used as reducing agents.

  • As a reducing agent for electroless plating

In electroless plating, electrons that are generated through the oxidation of reducing agents contained in the plating liquid cause metal ions to be deposited in a layer on objects that are to be plated.

This method enables plating on non-conductors such as plastics and ceramics only by pretreating and immersing them in the plating solution. In addition, the method can handle even intricately-shaped objects due to film thickness uniformity.

Sodium hypophosphites are commonly used as reducing agents for electroless plating. Our sodium hypophosphite products also have achieved satisfactory results in this regard. Application.
